Smudgie on the verge of releasing 1st CD online!

Hi,

Well...it's been designed, manufactured and now shrink-wrapped. So now, the countdown has started for the little CD that could, to soon make it's way into the wild blue Web World.

Stay tuned for Smudgie's first alternative, soft pop-rock, neo-60's CD coming online to a Web near you. It is simply called "Smudgie".

In the studio, my producer and I produced one song at a time which, from what I understand, is not the norm in recording. Artists typically stockpile songs and sing them all at once. I think the advantage of the "one at a time" method is that each of the ten songs captures the various unique emotions at the various points in time when they were written.

When the very first song, called "Unintentionally" was produced, I recall taking the mastered version of the song and parking across from the liquor store in my car (which had the best stereo system) and blasting it....there was no liquor involved honest! I was truly overwhelmed with emotion when I heard it. There is nothing like creating your very own raw packet of emotion and trying to convey that feeling through music, lyrics and ultimately vocals (though that's hard for me, being new at singing). Hearing it back was so personal and so fullfilling.

Anyway, what I can say is that each song is just a simple, honest reflection of emotions. If one person is moved in some way by any of the songs, then that would be so cool because, to me, it would mean an invisible bond between the writer of the song and the "absorber" of the song, has been forged.

Cheers,
Smudge
